AVBOB Step 12 isn’t just a resource; it’s a programme dedicated to improving learner outcomes all across South Africa and making matric manageable. Now in its second year, the AVBOB Step 12 Learning Platform offers 33 free matric preparation guides aligned with the CAPS curriculum, helping teachers and learners meet the demands of matric exams with confidence and clarity. Available in all 11 official languages, the guides cater to the unique language needs of South Africa’s diverse learners. Covering all three major language papers – Language in Context, Literature, and Creative Writing – these guides are valuable tools for classrooms nationwide.

We Keep Things Updated for Accuracy and Accessibility

All guides were recently revised and refreshed by our Subject Advisors to remain up-to-date and fully aligned with matric examination requirements. This included updating the Literature guide (Paper 2) to reflect new prescribed texts, while Papers 1 and 3 received minor adjustments to improve clarity and usability. The digital nature of these updates allowed AVBOB to make the necessary changes swiftly and efficiently without the need for costly reprints, which keeps these resources free and accessible to all.

Prompting Classroom Engagement and Skill Development

Language educators already report that AVBOB Step 12 study guides have sparked lively classroom discussions, encouraging students to think critically and articulate their thoughts. Mr. Tshepo Phokoje, a Grade 12 Setswana teacher in Klerksdorp, shared how these guides transformed his class dynamics, “I was amazed at how the guides prompted debate in class between the learners. These guides are more than learning tools; they encourage learners to think and verbalise themselves. Most importantly, the guides provided the skill to answer questions.” Each guide is created to bridge the gap between the curriculum’s goals and what learners understand. They also break down complex topics and help students manage their time effectively during exams.

AVBOB Step 12 Gives Students a Strong Head Start

Language mastery remains a foundational skill that opens doors in all fields of study and work. Communication is the key to understanding the world around us and advancing in any profession.
